License Agreement

Understand your rights and responsibilities when using Orthinal templates.

1. License Grant Overview

When you download a template from Orthinal (whether free or premium), you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the template according to the terms outlined in this agreement. You do not own the template; you license the right to use it.

The license is personal to you and cannot be shared with others without explicit written permission from Orthinal.

2. Free Templates License

What you CAN do:

  • Download, install, and use for personal projects
  • Use for commercial purposes (client work, products, services)
  • Modify, customize, and adapt to your needs
  • Use in multiple projects
  • Use without attribution (though attribution is appreciated)
  • Distribute your modified version to end users

What you CANNOT do:

  • Resell the template as-is or as part of a template collection
  • Offer the unmodified template as a service (e.g., template library platform)
  • Remove or alter copyright notices and ownership attribution
  • Sublicense the template to others
  • Use the template's code/design to create competing template platforms

3. Premium Templates License

Premium template licenses grant the same rights as free templates, with one key difference:

Premium templates are licensed for single-project use only

Single-Project License means:

  • You may use the template for one primary project
  • If you need to use it for additional projects, purchase additional licenses
  • A "project" is typically one website, application, or product
  • Updates and new versions of the template are included for 1 year

What you CAN do with premium templates:

  • Unlimited customization and modifications
  • Use for personal and commercial projects
  • Deploy to production environments
  • Distribute your final project (with modifications) to end users
  • Use template assets (components, utilities) in your projects

What you CANNOT do with premium templates:

  • Use for multiple separate projects without additional licenses
  • Resell the template or modified versions
  • Offer the template as part of a product or service
  • Share the template with clients or team members
  • Use as a template for creating your own template product

4. Commercial vs. Personal Use

Commercial Use includes:

  • Websites for businesses or organizations
  • Client projects you charge for
  • Products or services you sell
  • Applications used by your business
  • Internal tools for commercial enterprises

Personal Use includes:

  • Portfolios and personal websites
  • Learning and educational projects
  • Personal blogs and hobby projects
  • Non-profit or community projects without revenue

Both free and premium templates can be used for commercial purposes. Personal use requires the same license terms.

5. Modifications & Derivatives

You are permitted to modify and create derivative works from templates for your own use. However, when you share your final project (the website, app, product containing the template):

  • You must not include or expose the original template code unmodified
  • You must not provide the template code as a separate download
  • Significant modifications are acceptable and encouraged
  • End users should receive your customized version, not the original template

6. Team & Multi-User Licenses

Single-User License (default): Only you (the purchaser) can use the template.

Team License (if available): If you purchase a team license, all team members listed can use the template for the specified number of team members.

Extended License needed if:

  • More team members need access than your license covers
  • You want to share with contractors or temporary team members

7. Intellectual Property Rights

What we retain: Orthinal retains all intellectual property rights to the original template design, code, and structure.

What you own: You own any custom modifications, content (text, images), and your final project that uses the template.

Attribution: While not required for free templates, we appreciate attribution. For premium templates, you should include a link crediting Orthinal.

8. Resale & Distribution

NOT allowed:

  • Reselling unmodified templates
  • Offering templates on competing platforms (e.g., ThemeForest)
  • Including templates in template bundles
  • Providing templates as part of a paid service
  • Sharing template files with unauthorized users

Allowed:

  • Delivering your final project (with customized templates) to clients
  • Selling or sharing projects built WITH the template
  • Providing templates as part of free/open-source projects (with modifications)

9. License Restrictions & Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

  • Use templates to create competing template platforms or products
  • Reverse engineer or extract the template code
  • Remove copyright notices or ownership information
  • Use templates for illegal activities
  • Use templates for adult content or hateful materials
  • Sublicense or lease the template to others
  • Use templates with expired licenses

10. Support & Updates

Included with purchase:

  • Free updates for 1 year from purchase date
  • Access to documentation and guides
  • Community support forums

NOT included:

  • Personal technical support after 1 year
  • Custom modifications or development services
  • Priority support (unless purchased separately)

11. Indemnification

By using templates from Orthinal, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Orthinal from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of the template, your modifications, or your project. This includes intellectual property claims, copyright infringement, or any other misuse of the template.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

Templates are provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. Orthinal does not guarantee that templates are free of errors, will meet your needs, or will be compatible with all systems and platforms. Use them at your own risk.

13. License Termination

Your license may be terminated if you:

  • Violate any terms of this license agreement
  • Resell or redistribute templates
  • Use templates for unauthorized purposes
  • Fail to pay for licenses you've received

Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the template and delete all copies from your systems.

14. License Upgrade & Additional Licenses

Need the template for another project? You can:

  • Purchase an additional license for each new project
  • Upgrade to Extended License (if available) for broader rights
  • Request custom licensing for special use cases

Email support@orthinal.com for license questions or custom arrangements.

15. Changes to License Agreement

We may update this License Agreement. Changes apply to new template downloads. Licenses you've already purchased remain under the terms that were in effect at the time of purchase (except where required by law).
